Diana was born and educated in south-east Essex, later moving to London to study. She trained as a teacher and gained a B.Ed, specialising art. She taught in various primary schools in London and Essex before her children were born and has recently returned to teaching, working part-time as a supply teacher.
A chance visit to see a friend's work at the student exhibition at Windsor College opened Diana's eyes to the world of creative textiles. As soon as her younger child went to school she returned to college part-time to study City and Guilds Embroidery parts I and II and was awarded a Highly Commended Certificate for Excellence in 2001 for her part II work. In the same year a piece of her work was displayed in the Victoria and Albert Museum in their "Inspired by the V&A" exhibition. She was elected a member of EAST in 2002.
"I find inspiration for my work from a variety of sources, but the shapes, lines and patterns in nature are particular favourites at the moment." "I really enjoy machine embroidery and love to play with the use of colour."
